Apparently 60 million years ago the island of Papua is still on the seabed formed by sedimentary rocks. A short story in time millions of years going on various tectonic activity and deposition produces the mainland of Papua is still fused with Australia. Gradually this inland fragmented and produce islands and mountains in Papua as we know it today.

Jayawijaya mountains are also the only mountains and mountain in Indonesia has peaks covered by eternal snow. Although not all of the cluster of Jayawijaya Mountains peak that has snow. Snow owned by some of the top even when it has been lost due to changes in global weather.

According to geological theory, originally the world only has a continent called Pangea at 250 million years ago. Continent Pangea split into two to form the continents Laurasia and the Eurasian continent. Eurasian continent broke back into the continent Gonwana which would later become the mainland of South America, Africa, India, and Australia.

At the peak of the highest mountain in Indonesia, snow was spread. The altitude that reaches 4,884 dapl make any lasting snow covered mountain peak in Papua. The snow at the top Jayawijaya is one of the unique natural phenomenon, because natural ice usually does not go down along the equator. If viewed from the air, Puncak Jayawijaya like tapestry covered with white hood. If the sun is bright, the snow will reflect sunlight glare but still awesome.
